Christine Ockrent is COO of the French Television and Radio World Service.

She is a columnist for several French-language publications. She has had an outstanding career in television, both as producer of documentaries and anchor of the evening news, where she shaped a style as the first woman presenter and editor.

Previously she was editor in chief of the weekly newsmagazine L'Express, editor in chief and anchor of the weekly current-affairs program France Europe Express on France 3 Television.

Previously she was editor in chief of the weekly newsmagazine L'Express, editor in chief and anchor of the weekly current-affairs program France Europe Express on France 3 Television.

She began her career in broadcast journalism at NBC News and worked for eight years at CBS' 60 Minutes. She has been awarded several French and international distinctions for her work in TV journalism.

She is the author of many books and essays. One of her books has been translated in German ("Wie Julius Caesar den Euro erfand" Rowohlt).

She is on the board of International Crisis Group (ICG), the French Council on Foreign Relations (IFRI), the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), the Center for European Reform (CER), Human Rights Watch France, Reporters Sans Frontières and the Women's Forum for the Economy and Society.
She is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris and studied at Cambridge University.

She has been awarded the French Legion d'Honneur and the l'Ordre national du Merite.
